Men’s Hockey Asia Cup
The Men’s Hockey Asia Cup is a prestigious field hockey tournament that has been held for teams in the Asian region. The Men’s Hockey Asia Cup was first introduced in 1982 by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF). The tournament was established to promote and develop the sport of field hockey in Asia and provide Asian teams with an opportunity to compete at an international level.
The inaugural edition of the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup was held in Karachi, Pakistan. Pakistan emerged as the first champions by defeating arch-rivals India in the final. Since then, the tournament has been held at regular intervals, with various Asian nations participating.
The Asia Cup follows a traditional field hockey format, with teams competing in a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds leading to the final. The qualification process for the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup typically includes participation by the top Asian teams.
